Bert Posted 24 August 2006 Share Posted 24 August 2006 From the OS International Round Up Iain Hume has been named in the Canada squad to take on Jamaica in a friendly on Monday, September 4. The game will take place at 4pm in Montreal at the Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard. The match will mark new coach Stephen Hart's first game since taking charge of the side in July this year, having previously looked after the under 17 squad. Hume has made 14 appearance for his national side, and has so far got one goal to his name. The 22-year-old striker has been a big hit since joining the Foxes from Tranmere Rovers in August 2005 - scoring 10 goals from 30 league starts to date. The game comes in the middle of the fixture break for internationals and will therefore not force Hume into missing any domestic action. Meanwhile, defender Gareth McAuley has been placed on standby for Northern Ireland ahead of their upcoming friendlies against Iceland and Spain. And there was also some good news for the Academy today, with Joe Magunda being chosen to represent England under 18s against France on September 21, while Andy King has been named in the Welsh under 19s squad to face Germany on September 7. Joe Mattock and Ashley Chambers were also recently called up to the England under 17 side for their upcoming games against Turkey and the United States.
