newms Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Rob Kelly has had no money to spend and is effectively left with the same squad as Levein accept a few free transfers (two coming from league 2) Is it any wonder we find ourselves in relatively the same position as last year. Its too early to say if we are as bad as under Levein. If Fryatt and Hume were showing the form of when Kelly first took over I think that we would have taken a point off West Brom and beaten Hull. Instead we lost both. If we fail to take anything from the next 3 then I will reassess. However I'm confident we'll beat Colchester and take atleast point from both Sunderland and Birmingham. We shall see!
Guest Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 nowadays I have family commitments and money constraints so I can't go as often Looks like a blessing in disguise to me.
Bloomer Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Our confidence is waning, it was fragile after last season and its has not really recovered. We are not doing the basics well enough, defend, attack, support each other etc. Something is wrong somewhare be it formation, tactics, team selection whatever. But we dont attack as a team and we dont defend as a team, its left to individuals to sort something out. Fryatts not bad, but he is a lone wolf, often the most forward of our players, yet how many balls does he get facing their goal that he runs on to? Zilch. When do we get a good left back with a good left foot? The gaps between each area (forwards, midfield, defence) are too wide metaphorically and physically. No understanding, no guile, no intuition, and no hunger - RKs favourite word, they don't look hungry to me they look malnourished, to feeble to slug it out.
