davieG Posted 13 December 2004 Posted 13 December 2004 The other week we all got it wrong when Bill Anderson claimed Makin as MOM this week he reckon's it was Nathan Blake. How could we all get it so wrong? :w00t: Oh and by the way Nathan wants more chances, well being MOM the who could blame him, not I. Striker Nathan Blake has urged new City boss Craig Levein to persevere with him. The 32-year-old former Welsh international was handed his first start in more than two months on Saturday in the absence of injured David Connolly. Blake hit the post with a header and went close on several other occasions but is still to open his league account for City since moving to the club from Wolves in the summer. However, he hopes to be given another chance to break his duck at local rivals Nottingham Forest on Friday. "It was nice to get a start and I thought I had a half-decent game but am obviously disappointed with the result because the game was there for the taking," Blake said. "I felt quite sharp but I will only get stronger and quicker if I am given a run in the team. "Hopefully I have given the gaffer something to think about ahead of the Forest match, we'll just have to wait and see. "But it would be nice to have a good run in the team like David (Connolly) has. "It is just a shame I couldn't be part of a winning team." The 2-0 defeat has left City in 13th place in the table and Blake believes it is imperative that his side come away from the City Ground with three points. He added: "These are frustrating times because we seem to keep getting to a certain stage but then can't seem to get over that final hurdle which could give us the confidence to go on a big run. "It is important that we regain our killer instinct on Friday for what is a must-win match. "It is a derby and if we are not on top of our game then we will get beaten, it is as simple as that." However, despite City's fourth home league defeat of the campaign at the weekend, they are still only five points off a play-off berth at the halfway point. Blake said: "As we have seen already this season, things can change very quickly. "We are approaching a busy period and usually by the end of January you can start to see who is going to be there or thereabouts with regards to promotion. We must make sure we are in that pack."
