Wellman Posted 17 December 2004 Posted 17 December 2004 THat would actually be good by the trees, i think he'd keep them up! 47300 But we don't want that
Mad Dog Posted 17 December 2004 Posted 17 December 2004 Christ you guys are such a bunch of wankers some times.
Jonesy_rules Posted 17 December 2004 Posted 17 December 2004 wtf: mad_dog why are we wankers? Foxes_4eva: yea i no we don't want that, but adams could and would do it!
Mad Dog Posted 17 December 2004 Posted 17 December 2004 "ruin another club", that's such a shitty thing to say. He did a lot for us. If we hadn't got promotion in that first season down we'd be absolutely fooked now money wise, but everybody seems to forget it. Or dismiss it with ridiculous "but we had a premiership team" arguments - that didn't help Derby, West Ham, Sunderland, Forest etc. go straight back up, did it.

davieG Posted 17 December 2004 Posted 17 December 2004 Christ you guys are such a bunch of wankers some times. 47312 I think it's known as the generalisation trap you've fallen into Mad Dog as in "You Guys" implies everyone and that's blantantly NOT true. Perhaps "some of you guys" would have been more appropriate.
MON Posted 17 December 2004 Posted 17 December 2004 Go on Adams, ruin another club. 47298 You are a bloody idiot some times. Adams did not ruin our club. As Mad Dog said he did well to get us up. We were NOT a premiership side. A lot of the side had left e.g: Piper, Savage, Rowett, Wise, Lennon the season before. I believe our side is stronger now, bar Izzet and Dickov and Mckinlay and Davidson. We could quite easily have kept Mckinlay and Davidson, but Adams didnt. He messed up big time this season, but how much was that to do with La manga?
Scow Posted 17 December 2004 Posted 17 December 2004 I think initially he would have a positive effect, but then get found out like Kinnear. I wonder how Impey and Podgers feel about it all?
Guest Posted 17 December 2004 Posted 17 December 2004 Dear oh dear... I don't think Adams did do a lot for us. We were promoted because of the squad of players we had, and the spirit built up because of the events surrounding the club. There were times when the tactical naivity which cost us survival last season could have cost us promotion had it not been for the quality of the players we had. How can having a Premiership squad in this division not be a valid reason? It's about having the right attitude in the first place. As I've already said, the Adminstration and all the embargoes placed on us helped to bring that squad together, and fight back. Now I suppose you're going to come back tell me how loyal Adams was; there might have been speculation linking him to other jobs, but nobody ever approached City to ask to speak to him. Neither is there a queue of clubs begging to get him back into management.

Lisa I understand your points on Adams to a point, but per lease he was one of our better managers, they all have their day and his were shortened by many factors. SOME OF YOU GUYS make my blood boil!
Guest Posted 17 December 2004 Posted 17 December 2004 It was a naff Premiership squad, but it was better than anything else in the same division. It was demoralised and low on confidence, pretty much like the squad we have now. I honestly believe if we hadn't have gone into Administration, and had the whole world against us, we would have struggled to go up. I had my doubts about Adams long before we went up, sorry.
Chards Posted 17 December 2004 Posted 17 December 2004 MA did his best for us, if he does go to the shitty trees, it could be a bad move for us cos they WILL improve.. Amazing aint it, one minute he is the next god and the next shit on the bottom of some fans shoes.......

The MANAGER does have an influence, now lets move on!!!
