Daggers Posted 9 November 2006 Posted 9 November 2006 Let it not be said that winning is everything; spare a moment to remember the efforts of those who come second, third...even fifth to reach this historic landmark. Being first in itself is a hollow experience as the all consuming drive to reach this landmark has meant hours of neglect for those close to them while they were training, practicing their keyboard work and thinking of countless points of view they never knew they had. Those first over the top at the Somme may well have been brave fellows, but they were quickly cut down. It is those that followed who fought and beat the Hun. It is they who have given us our freedom, our liberty...our opportunity to reach 10,000 posts too. God bless us all.
