Muz Posted 20 December 2004 Posted 20 December 2004 After seeing him at the start of the season he looked awesome.Scoring at Derby Rotherham , Crewe ect. He was by far the best player we had and he was really playing well. And im sorry for saying this hurl the abuse at me if you want but i think his recent preformances have not been particullay good.He seems to give the ball away alot and he seems out of games to.I was just thinking is it time we drop him and Give Williams or Dawson a chance. When Lilian was substituted in the Forest game Joey gudjonsson then looked more free and was able to knock the ball around better.I just think maybe its him or Nalis we have to choose and on recent performance id have to Pick Joey.I think we should drop Lilian and give Williams a chance against Rotherham if he does not impress at least we know we have tried it.So too try Dawson aswell he may be the answer. I just feel that Nalis should be dropped for a few games and give somebody else a chance. What do you think? PS.There is probably loads of spelling mistakes in there!
Teeno Posted 20 December 2004 Posted 20 December 2004 I don't think we should drop him at all. He was awsome at the begining of the season, and imo he hasn't really detiriated, but other players who were awful have impressed and you are probably recognising it and taking for granted what Lilian does. He is one of our best players and to drop him would be insane.

I think you could well be right Muzzy, he has looked a bit off the pace recently and many a person on here has suggested that the lack of goals was down to an ineffective midfield. Williams and Dawson sounds good but is not one I could recommend having only seen Dawson play once. But certainly Williams and Joey perhaps warrant a chance.
Anish Posted 20 December 2004 Posted 20 December 2004 I am a massive fan of Lilan Nalis (as the sig shows) but I have to agree that we need to try something different. I want to see Williams back in midfield because he offers something extra going forward - he runs ahead of the strikers and gets into the box, something that nobody else does. I think Nalis should be rested for a game or two, to see if it makes any difference. Because imo there is something that isn't quite right with our midfield.

Scow Posted 20 December 2004 Posted 20 December 2004 I suggested dropping Nalis in this thread not so long ago.

He gives us goals and we bloody need them at the moment! I deffo think Williams needs a start though.
Anish Posted 20 December 2004 Posted 20 December 2004 Nalis does give us goals, but at what cost? Would we score more goals without him in the team and with Williams in? I don't know. But I do know that Nalis hasn't been at his best for the last couple of games and could do with a rest. Nalis will come back better and stronger when he returns to the starting XI.
