Daggers Posted 13 May 2007 Posted 13 May 2007 I dont like the fact that West Ham have stayed up. I think the whole Tevez thing is true they should be docked the points and relegated. Takes the piss a bit how its him who kept them up.Nothing will be done now im sure but still its still a bit hard to take if your a Sheff Utd fan. Today's Observer stated that the League tried to split the "Gang of Four" yesterday in a bid to block the court case...which only served to piss off all four clubs and strengthen their resolve. Not only that, but half the Premiership look like backing the court case - they cited Spurs and Middlesborough as being very annoyed. So 'they would have been docked points if it had been during the first half of the season' looks like it will become a statement that hangs the Premiership. I would have though it must come under 'restriction of trade' - as in, it now restricts the trade of Sheffield United. What about it FoxesTalk lawyers?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 May 2007 Posted 13 May 2007 I can't see them overturning it now the season's finished. To me the Premier League is just a fat kid who's just eaten someone else's cake. It's gone now, there's nothing you can do about it. It's just a case of hoping that the person whose cake it was doesn't demand out of spite that the fat kid throws up the cake.

If the clubs can take it to court and prove restriction of trade and unfair practise before the start of next season...maybe. The precedent it sets is that you can break League rules if you have the cash (which is why the clubs are so concerned). How long before a club with Chelsea's bank account (like Chelsea) start to implement such a strategy in order to gain an advantage? At the very least, it's going to be a feisty meeting at the Premier League's AGM in a couple of weeks time.
