Scow Posted 29 December 2004 Posted 29 December 2004 Nalis Concentrating On The Simple ThingsLilian Nalis says that City need to get 'back to basics' when they take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday. The Foxes go into the game on the back of defeats to Rotherham and Sheffield United, and will be desperate to put things right against Steve Cotterill's men. And Nalis believes that if City can get the fundamentals right then it will go a long way to securing a victory over the Clarets. He said: "We got back to basics against Sheffield and we need to do that again against Burnley. We know that we can fight and be competitive. "They go into the game on the back of a victory over Wigan so they are in form. But we have got a lot of good players here and if we get it right we have got more than a chance." Looking back at the Blades defeat, Nalis concluded that the sending off had been the turning point in the game. He added: "It is always disappointing when you lose. We started the game well and we were competitive but when you lose a player it makes it very difficult. "We tried to play a little more in the second half but then they scored. It was always going to be difficult for us to get back into the game after that happened. "After the Rotherham defeat we felt that we had a point to prove. We showed some fight and it was better. "Keith is a bit down because he was obviously disappointed to get sent off. But we are a team and we will help him to put the whole thing behind him. "Sheffield United went into the game on the back of a good result. Maybe if we'd have beaten Rotherham then it would have been a different game. "There is still a long way to go and we will be trying as hard as we can for the club and everyone who is supporting Leicester City Football Club. Saturday brings another game and another story. I'm surprised Nalis didn't mention anything about 'doubling' their efforts on the training ground.
