Ultra Posted 22 December 2006 Posted 22 December 2006 For Manwell's benefit, it's now emerged from sources in London that Sven was indeed the West Ham board's first choice to replace Pardew. However, he decided he didn't fancy club football (and all the attendant media hassle) in England and wants to make a fresh start elsewhere in Europe. He did, however, apparently recommend Curbishley as an alternative for the hammers. So whether Curbs succeeds or fails, ultimately he can thank Sven. By the way, don't blame me for not figuring out how Sven's mind works. His missus couldn't work it out either and she lived with him for long enough!
