Manwell Pablo Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 Wow what a suprise, just over 48 hours after Alan Pardews sacking Alan Curbishley will be uneviled as West Hams new manager (3pm this afternoon). Sickening really, just confirms my thoughts on Pardews sacking. http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...1771744,00.html Ah yes and lets all laugh at Foxes Talks resident know it all. Expect Sven to arrive at Upton Park in time for Christmas. He has a far superior track record, and bigger profile, than Curbishley! You Clown Haha! I might even put that in my signature.
davieG Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 I'm glad I posted this then: According to Tony Cottee, Curbishley is nailed on for the job, being a dyed in the wool Hammer and the fans favourite by almost 100% agreement For a minute or two I thought Ultra might take for a clown. http://www.sporting-heroes.net/football-heroes/displayhero_club.asp?HeroID=3473' target="_blank">
Milky Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 I bet curbs is delighted, it's just the sort of thing he was hoping for. Darren Bent first signing? Could be a good partnership with Ashton.
Lord Nibblington Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 Well. That came as a complete and utter shock, I have to say!
Filbert_Ross Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 I dont think theres much between Pardew and Curbishley
Wils Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 I dont think theres much between Pardew and Curbishley There is now.
Head Honcho Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 Curbishley is in no way a fans favourite! This is an awful signing for The Hammers but hey! It's their funeral
davieG Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 Curbishley is in no way a fans favourite! This is an awful signing for The Hammers but hey! It's their funeral Well according to Tony Cottee he is, do you know something he doesn't?
MC Prussian Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 There's too many London clubs in the Premiership, anyway. One could easily get rid of Charlton, Fulham and even West Ham to make space for others. I hope at least two of the above clubs are going down this season.

I would agree but seeing as that would mean Colin keeping Sheff United in the prem, I don't
The People's Hero Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 Ultra. What a cock. The UltraCock if you will. Taking being a cock to a whole new level.
Wycombe Fox Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 The BBCSport headline cracked me up "West Ham to Unveil Curbishley" Suddenly had a vision of Curbishley being placed back-to-wall about 11.00 this morning behind a pair of full height curtains with just his feet poking out the bottom. Then at 3.00 this afternoon Mr. Egghead pulls a cord and the curtains part in the middle to reveal Curbishley. I'll get me coat...
Head Honcho Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 Well according to Tony Cottee he is, do you know something he doesn't? I know for a fact he isn't even fancied by the players. It may be worth looking on a Hammers website as to whether he's a fans favourite or not I doubt you'd get more then 30-40% agreeing with the appointment.
lookwhaticando Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 I know for a fact he isn't even fancied by the players. It may be worth looking on a Hammers website as to whether he's a fans favourite or not I doubt you'd get more then 30-40% agreeing with the appointment. I'm looking at 606 and the comments I'm hit by immediately are those saying things like: Aren't we replacing like for like here? Curbishley took a Championship side and made them a mid-table Prem side but couldn't take them any futher. Isn't that what we had in Pardew? 'cept he threw in an FA cup final while he was at it? We shouldn't have sacked Pardew at all anyway Quite a few of the fans on 606 don't seem terribly keen, they don't think Curbishley is going to take them any further than Pardew did. It's not the 100% backing people have hinted at elsewhere - a lot of people think the club has shown no ambition. Still, Curbs is their manager and now he needs their backing anyway. Good luck to him. That's put any hope of us getting him in, though. So Pardew it must be. ;) :P :D If/When we need to replace ours, that is.
Head Honcho Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 It's a case of same ole same ole if you ask me!
davieG Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 It's a case of same ole same ole if you ask me! I bow to your greater knowledge Allen, as for Tony Cottee - what does he know blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
lookwhaticando Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 Short, simplistic view of the road ahead (short-term) for Curbs.
chili_con_carne Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 This makes the game on Sunday even more watchable. Wonder if he puts Mascherano and Tevez in the starting line up, by the way if the two argies start playing well now Curbishley is god
Head Honcho Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 I bow to your greater knowledge Allen, as for Tony Cottee - what does he know blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I'm not saying he's gonna be reviled but I think most hammers would have liked a more high profile manager. Let's be honest AC hit his level at Charlton and I think most Hammers realise that. To improve on AP he'll have to win a cup or get them into Europe both pipe dreams imo.

Wonder if he puts Mascherano and Tevez in the starting line up, by the way if the two argies start playing well now Curbishley is god Make no bones about it WHU will be playing better football for the rest of the season, but that will have nothing to do with AC, any manager going there will see an immediate improvement, trouble is they'll hit that level they always reach and kapow!
Joe. Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 Great choice for Wham. He's a top manager and I think he'll do very well.
Maybes Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 Always going to happen. Very unfair on pardew as I think this was always going to be the plan of their new owner.
Joe. Posted 13 December 2006 Posted 13 December 2006 Always going to happen. Very unfair on pardew as I think this was always going to be the plan of their new owner. Yes it was unfair on Pardew but you never know... he could be on his way here son. Our fingers are crossed..
lookwhaticando Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 Mystic Manwell was right it seems. West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson has admitted that he wanted Alan Curbishley to be the new manager before he sacked Alan Pardew. (Daily Mail) BBC
Jon the Hat Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 Mystic Manwell was right it seems. BBC Well he would be a bit stupid not to have thought about a replacement before sacking Pardew.
