Suffolk_fox Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 As Mrs SF is away, I am left to my own devices for dinner tonight, and I am trying something new. I am a big fan of chips, peas and gravy. Seeing as chippy's down here do not do gravy, I have to do my own. But tonight is a big experiment - I have bought some 'soak your own' mushy peas. I think I am in for a gastronomic treat. Has anyone else tried 'Real' mushy peas instead of the crappy marrowfat shite from the chippy? Will this post be pulled by the time I am back from the chippy?
Daggers Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Are you going for vinegar over the top? I would also suggest a side order of Findus cheese crispy pancakes. Mmmmmm
Suffolk_fox Posted 15 December 2006 Author Posted 15 December 2006 I am having the chips covered in salt and vinegar at the chippy, chippy vinegar is better somehow, and it gives them the chance to marinade like.... But some salt and vinegar over the top before serving.... definitely!
lookwhaticando Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Your wife left you to your own devices? Good lord... what was she thinking?
Suffolk_fox Posted 15 December 2006 Author Posted 15 December 2006 Christmas party... But I do see your point! Oh, and the peas were divine..... Do they do Fish n Chips, gravy and peas in Canadia?
lookwhaticando Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Christmas party... But I do see your point! Just hope you've got a phone handy, you never know when you'll need the fire brigade and all that.
lookwhaticando Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Oh, and the peas were divine..... Do they do Fish n Chips, gravy and peas in Canadia? There's a chippy place (quite good) called Joey's only... What's funny about it, though the chippy's name is Joeys only there's more than one of them. Anyhoo, they do fish, chips (good chips I add) mushy and gravy - as far as I'm aware. Not had the combination as I don't do peas.
Maybes Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 I've been out for a work xmas party since 1. I have drank manier pint .....chips and peas sounds goood to me
