MC Prussian Posted 1 February 2007 Share Posted 1 February 2007 Club Mourn Sad Loss On behalf of the board of directors, shareholders, management, players and staff, Leicester City would like to pass on their condolences to the family and friends of Trevor Bennett, who sadly passed away this week. Mr Bennett, of Newtown Linford, was a City Shareholder, a Past President and a keen follower of the Foxes. City Chairman Jim McCahill said: "Our deepest sympathies go out to his wife Beryl and the rest of his family at this difficult time. "Trevor will be sadly missed by all." Mr Bennett was awarded the MBE in the New Year's Honours List at the beginning of 2005 in recognition of his generous donations to an abundance of causes and charities over a number of years. He was an Honorary Life President of Leicestershire Country Cricket Club and a past President of Newcastle United and Newcastle Falcons RFC.
