James Johnson speaks

He just sounds bitter to me. Sure, we don't know if things will work out under MM, but I think the vast majority of us at least have some hope now. We may not have been destined for administration, but we haven't been able to buy a player for a year. We couldn't afford £125,000 for Joey. We sold COG to Rotherham, themselves in administration last year, for £65,000. So clubs recently returning from admin have more money to spend than us pre MM.

In his interview on RL a couple of weeks ago all JJ gave us was nudge, nudge, wink, wink, all may not be as it seems innuendo, which is not helpful.

He should have a little more grace.

James is right. There have been a lot of untruths spouted about this bid.

The myth of the "£25m offer", which the local tabloid continues to circulate, is still widely believed and was a major factor in ensuring the fans' support for the deal.

Other lies being spread were that we faced immediate administration if the deal fell through (as James points out, that was NEVER the case) and that we were "the fifth most expensive club in England to run" (Really? I'd be amazed if ANY Premiership club, or teams in our league still in receipt of parachute payments, have a smaller wage bill than us).

But the fact is that, whether willingly or under duress, the overwhelming majority of shareholders HAVE sold out to Mandy and we will all have to live with the consequences.

Sorry but you completely misunderstand the costs. that we are an expensive club to run corresponds to our overall costs including non playing costs and players wages etc in proportion to overall turnover. so whilst the previous administration rightly forced the playing costs down they have done little to address non playing costs and have failed to raise our income stream.

as for the fans support for many they probably don't really care how much any individual buys our club for but what they do care about is that a club like rotherham (recently in administration) can afford to buy one of our players when we would not have been able to buy that same player for that same fee.

as for JJ he has had plenty of time to try and put together a consortium to make a rival bid. in fact i believe he was around well before MM was even on the horizon but for whatever reason he did not see fit to do anything either because he couldn't or because he didn't want to.

maybe the minority in which you exist will in the long term be proved correct (i hope not) but for now MM provides the only potential hope we have of returning to the premiership and i hope all can get behind the team now and give them the backing they need.

To be fair, Rotherham did have the benefit of a few million of Watford's money to spend at the time.
