Guest Posted 19 January 2005 Posted 19 January 2005 Walker - 6 Maybury - 6 Stewart - 5.5 Dabizas - 4 Heath - 5 Gillespie - 5.5 Scowcroft - 4 Williams - 6 Gudjonsson - 6 Dublin - 4.5 Connolly - 6 Subs: Nalis - 5 Wright - 5 In case I end up being harsh again, I'd just like to point out that the conditions made for a difficult game, unfortunately not a classic!
davieG Posted 19 January 2005 Posted 19 January 2005 Unless somebody else scores it you're going to be harsh, fair and everything else associated with scoring. How could you....... Where you even at the match...... etc. In the interest of fairness though you will need to have these debates with yourself.

Teeno Posted 19 January 2005 Posted 19 January 2005 Walker - 7 Maybury - 6 Stewart - 5 Dabizas - 6 Heath - 6 Gillespie - 5 Scowcroft - 4 Williams - 6 Gudjonsson - 7* Dublin - 4 Connolly - 6 Subs: Nalis - 5 Wright - 5 *Best player, great goal and had a really good box to box game.
Scow Posted 19 January 2005 Posted 19 January 2005 Walker 7 – Wasn’t really tested much, but he commanded his box well and made some excellent catches in treacherous conditions. Maybury 5 – An average performance, stuck to his job well and put in a few crunching tackles. Dabizas 7 – A very solid game at the back, less of the ‘chesting’ of the striker, which was nice to see. Won plenty in the air and covered for Heath when he went missing. Heath 4 – No positional sense or brains. Marking was too loose and looked slow in chasing balls over the top. Stewart 3 – A bit of a nightmare for Stewart. Allowed their winger to get past him too many times and he was useless going forward. Gillespie 5 – Poor first have, picked up in the second where he was unlucky not to score. Gives us that width down the right, but didn’t really get many crosses in. Gudjonsson 7 – Played well and scored a great goal. He covered the ground well and his passing/tackling was much improved. Williams 4 – Fairly anonymous throughout the game as he couldn’t really get a foot on the ball. Scowcroft 4 – Started left wing, then reverted to the right, and then was put upfront with Connolly. Played better on the wing, which is saying something. Connolly 6 – Looked lively throughout and his movement caused Blackpool a few problems. Dublin 3 – Offered nothing upfront. His hold up play and aerial threat was non-existent. He earns a 3 because he defended some set pieces well. Subs: Nalis 3 – Looked too slow and was bypassed easily. Wright – Not on the pitch long enough.
Hullfox Posted 19 January 2005 Posted 19 January 2005 Walker 7 – Made me feel confident whenever the ball approached the area. His knee isn't right though. Maybury 6 – Solid game. He is way way better than Makin, a no nonsense player. Dabizas 7 – Agree with Scowy and not Lisa on this. Some of his heading was tremendous. The conditions however probably made his distribution look the same as everyone else. Heath 5 – Looked stronger but did get caught out positionally. Stewart 4 – Obviously adverse to the weather, not the Jordy of late, didn't give enough passing options and sold others short too often. Gillespie 6 – I like the added dimension that he gives us when he runs at players. Gudjonsson 8 – This is the Gudjonsson that we need. Great engine and was up for the battle. Williams 6 – Lot of effort but with little or no chance of starring due to the conditions. Scowcroft 5 – Feel a bit sorry for him now. Used in three seperate positions in those conditions can't be easy. Seemed to give more effort but didn't quite do enough with the ball. Connolly 6 – The man is a pest to the opposition and looked lively. Dublin 4 – Nothing doing. The whole scenario of a wet pitch and blustery conditions were not condusive to him playing well. One great body check on a defender which sent him cartwheeling. Also scared the shit out of the young keeper. Subs: Nalis 5 – Looked as though he'd have understandably preferred to stay on the bench. Wright 6 – Not on the pitch for long but kept the ball in the right part of the field at the end of the game. Produced a great shot too.
Guest Posted 20 January 2005 Posted 20 January 2005 If shirt pulling and banging your chest into the backs of other players were signs of quality, then Dabizas has oodles of talent.
