Floating Fox Posted 2 April 2007 Posted 2 April 2007 Standupsitdown Will be making an apperance on friday as a 'protest' agasint having to sit down at modern football. They will be backed up by people from the FSF. The main Aims are to inform people about the campaign etc but there are going to be fliers and petitions done - So far I have a few people willing to help out but we are currently looking for more people to help with the petitions or even just print out fliers/stickers! Anyone who would like to help-out with it please leave a reply in here as my PM box is nearing limits, and i'll get in touch. Most of all, we need you out there to sign the petition - many of you probably think that its not going to happen but at least we are trying to do something about it and need full backing - so if you want to see Safe standing areas back at football please sign the petitions

But im sure it would be good to do this in L1 as well as they would be happy to sign it and were at a time pissed off with stewards like N1 is now. More people as well its just a suggestion

More people as well its just a suggestion Yeah good idea, just a case of getting some-one in L1 to rep-resent SUSD really and to take the petitions in L1 with them. I could see qutie a few being intrested in the "kop" as well.

And is good old chap.
lcfc_jme Posted 2 April 2007 Posted 2 April 2007 I'll be making an appearance outside the stadium to assist with the passing around of leaflets and petitions. Anything to help the cause, like.
john_lcfc Posted 2 April 2007 Posted 2 April 2007 il print off some flyers n put them in and around N block concourse n il obviously say hi to you lads on the stall and sign any petition going
Floating Fox Posted 2 April 2007 Author Posted 2 April 2007 Anyone going to help out with the Petitions then? It puzzles me how you get some many people who complain at not being able to stand at sayin that they think standing areas should be brought back yet do nothing about it!
Guest Posted 2 April 2007 Posted 2 April 2007 If anyone has a portable picnic table, or a trestle table (the kind of thing you use for wallpapering is ideal) and parks within spitting distance of the stadium, that would also be of use, as this would give a noticeable base (at the moment this shouldn't be a problem). As would someone who can print a banner to go in front/around it.
Guest Posted 2 April 2007 Posted 2 April 2007 By the way, I shall try to print of some black and white copies. As the Tesco add says, every little helps.

Guest Posted 2 April 2007 Posted 2 April 2007 Aren't the FSF bringing the banner I may have read the eamil wrong, but Amanda said something about digging out a picture, and sending (I could be having a blonde moment, however). In the absence of any real banner making it, if someone is generous and willing to produce another free of charge, it wouldn't hurt.

Very true. We'll have to get it done fast though..I'm pretty sure that they own one already! I'll get in touch with a friend who should be able to do fliers. FAO john and foxlad - You would be better to do Stickers than fliers (On the same link)
Sods Posted 2 April 2007 Posted 2 April 2007 I would really like to help the cause but i can't really rely on what time i will be their as i have to go on a bus to northampton then leicester and as its good friday its always limited and a struggle.
Sods Posted 2 April 2007 Posted 2 April 2007 Here is another way of being noticed but it may be hard. At northampton i think their pa thing is like a radio but im not sure. Well anyway when the stewards were harsh to the people in the north stand they used to ring up and ask for 'im still standing' to be played at half time. Which the stewards hated and everyone loved. Probably wouldn't work for leicester though.

Stand Up Sit Down Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 Picture of Banner Here The offer is still open for you to use the banner, but you're going to have to let us have an idea of the number of people prepared to help. This must be organised well, with you knowing that you have (a) enough fliers to distribute (template on our forum) and (b) enough people prepared to stand behind the table and get signatures on the petition that will call for choice for fans and a debate. Fliers would be better distributed outside the ground. Another idea I had would be for a message (perhaps the same as the banner) to be printed out with one letter per sheet of A3 paper. These could be laminated and held up by fans standing next to each other before kick off and if done in more than one location could look effective.

All looks good surely we could hold that 3/4 up at the back of the N block. Would look good on sky and all that.

Becasue without them and any support from you lot I can't see anything happening
lcfc_jme Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 jamie will have to sweet talk his mate the PA announcer. If we was allowed in anyway I'm still not allowed in - 3 games the ban is, so I'll be back for the Wolves game. I'm coming down to do my bit on Friday though. And I don't even have to be in that area. Shame on all of you who are going to be there but not doing anything!

If you want to stand then you should do something about it and this is your perfect chance!
Guest Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 I have received an email today from the club saying that at this stage it would not be appropriate to have a petition promoting safe standing going around the stadium. My suggestion is to leave leaflets in local pubs, perhaps with the petition(s) being signed there. As long as we don't do it on the club's land, then we can still do something.
Floating Fox Posted 3 April 2007 Author Posted 3 April 2007 I'm still going to hand fliers and a petition around in block regardless of what that **** says.
Guest Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 I'm still going to hand fliers and a petition around in block regardless of what that **** says. That's a bit harsh. It's not his fault.
