lookwhaticando Posted 20 April 2007 Posted 20 April 2007 No it wouldn't, I don't see how the game of football would be more boring if every team tried to play attacking flowing football.Who in that Arsenal side cost mega millions. Compared to the vast majority of the Bolton squad, all of them. I was speaking relatively when I used 'mega millions' and 'bargain basement'. Flowing attacking football is one thing, but when you insist on walking the ball every inch of the way to the goal line, it's a bit much - for me. That's where my beef is - there's no doubting Arsenal play some truly great flowing football - but when they seem determined to not score until they're only two inches away, it loses its edge somewhat. I love to see goals scored from range. Players like Riise really get my interest - the way he just pops up from about 30-40 yards and belts the ball goalwards... that's the kinda action I like. Agger's goal against West Ham earlier this season was a delight too - out of nowhere he smashes the ball goal-bound. It's unexpected - and I think that's probably what does it for me. With Arsenal, there's an air of inevitability about some of their goals - it's almost as if the goal itself is a complete anti-climax, as if there's nothing special about the ball crossing the goal line. That's just my opinion. Flowing football is nice - but change it up a bit lads, don't always try and make the goal a two yard sizzler.

lookwhaticando Posted 21 April 2007 Posted 21 April 2007 Last Tuesday night.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8EbjWUmCxQ I never said they always walk it into the net, or always try to. Some games, though, they do seem all too keen on walking it in - it baffles me, it's almost comical when they continually try to walk it in and fail to each time. That's just my twisted sense of humour, I guess. I do watch Arsenal on a sorta regular basis - indeed, I watch as much premiership football as I can get my eyes on (sometimes up to 5 games a weekend). So I do see Arsenal in action - and I've seen games where they seem obsessed about walking the ball into the net. Some games they do come up with a special long range shots (Van Persie's flying ninja kick comes to mind) - of which the Fabregas goal is one. They have the ability to score the kind of goals I like, but sometimes they seem to prefer walking the ball in - they never really seem to take a shot from anywhere outside the 6-yard box in such games. It's kinda baffling, for me. Just my take on things...
