Kilworthfox Posted 28 May 2007 Posted 28 May 2007 I have for some time been in the midst of an Arsenal Fan, and it really does show how differently a fan at a big club thinks differently to one of a size such as LCFC. The subject of G13 clubs came up and his opinion in a nut shell was that one day the top clubs from Europe would break away and form their own league and make loadsa money. I told him that the Champions League was very good football, and was very entertaining but I said do you not think that the novelty would rub off playing foreign teams every week and never again playing your local rivals or in the domestic cups? He said No that people would not get fed up of watching the best players. A statement which I agree with but If the novelty was lost who really cares about who wins a league of 16 or so teams from the scattered western Europe's big cities? Would it not be like an Americanized version of our game? Personally I would always want the English teams to play the English rivals. However this got me thinking of what it would be like with Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool gone! Chelsea will more than likely get invited in the near future Would the Premiership be more interesting?
Alexikokopops Posted 28 May 2007 Posted 28 May 2007 It's G-14, not 13. And Platini wants them to get to fook http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/6698805.stm
