JoeyB Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Well i was just thinking, with the singing Martin Allen has made so far, and the current squad he inherited how many of the players would be able to adapt to life in the premiership? Or do you just think that he is signing players to get us out of this division? Was just a thought...
JoeyB Posted 6 July 2007 Author Posted 6 July 2007 Come on Joe... Eh? How many players can cut it in the prem? or which one's will look like Steven Hughes? (out of there depth)
morris1234 Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 bit of both really, some of them COULD make it and others we havent yet seen (hellings, sappleton) however if we do go up then basically wed have the money to get better players and therefore some players we have now will be not be needed or basically not good enough! i think so far weve made some good signings, im happy with kaebi, ngotty and chambers especially! i reckon get in clemence and mcleod and that should do it for us!!
lookwhaticando Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 How many players can cut it in the prem?or which one's will look like Steven Hughes? (out of there depth) Stephen. Allen is building a squad for promotion - not for life in the Premiership. A couple of the players have Premiership experience, and some of them were relegated from the Premiership (Kishishev and Chambers for two). Relegated Premiership players aren't typically the ones you sign to adapt to life at the top. Besides, do you really think established premiership quality players will drop down a level in an attempt to get back to the level they're currently at? Seriously, think about it.
davieG Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 A more pertinent question might be who could be tempted to leave if we have a decent season but not good enough to get promoted. I can certainly see Kaebi being tempted to the premier if he has the season everyone seems to be expecting. Kisnorbo would most likely be off, can't really see anyone else being tempted away so maybe that answers your question!
JoeyB Posted 6 July 2007 Author Posted 6 July 2007 Was just wondering. Some players that get relegated can hack it in there, and other players who can hack it in the prem might be pushed further down the pecking order at there current clubs so would be willing to drop down divisions to get to clubs who look like they will get to the prem. Todorov he could hack it in the prem, but has gone to Charlton. (just an example)
