He can pass, tackle, chase back, break forward and everything else that a central midfielder needs to be. In his honour and off the cuff, I wrote this song in his honour. Its new, brand new I tell ya. Steve Gerrard, Gerrard. Can pass the ball 40 yards. He`s big and hes fookin hard. Steve Gerrard, Gerrard. Scholes is also quality but cant tackle or head the ball. He always looks a bit better than he is because he has always had world class ball-winners to do his dirty work, especially Roy Keane.

He had his best season for ages last season, any Roy Keane was in management. Carrick did well but he is no Keano...But in terms of natural footballing ability he has to be up there. Many of his fellow pro's say he's the best, including the likes of Thierry Henry, Rio, Ronaldo and a certain Mr Gerrard... on the subject of him, can't fault him.

The difference last season is that Man Utd have developed the modern day tactic of 451 when defending and 433 when attacking. Playing this system means they only have one out and out striker and load the midfield and last season Scholes had Carrick playing deeper and Giggs even helping out in the middle of a 5 amongst others. I don't want to take anything away from him as he is quality but as the best all round player that has come from England in the last 20 years, I`d have Stevie Gerrard up there, especially as he almost single handedly has worked wonders when Liverpool were shite and dragged them from nobodies to eyro Champions.
