I don't rate Rob Green either - did you not see the 3-0 defeat at Blackburn when Green fkced up for 2 of Blackburn's goals?

You can argue all day as to who is the best, but you can't judge a player on one game as they've all had crap ones.

But a truly 'great' goalkeeper wouldn't make 2 howlers in 1 game like Green did. I believe Green has a lot of potential and could be fantastic in the future, but at present he doesn't strike me as being one of the best keepers in the PRemiership.

Unfortunately you don't have be 'truly great' goalkeeper to be 'one of the best' in the premiership. The standard is not as good as it used to be IMO.

That standard for english goalskeepers is not longer very good hence the reason why Green has got in to the squad, and also walker to a certain extent.

However the overall standard is as good as it has ever been.

Schwarzer, Jaskilinen, Friedel, James, Sorensen, Cech, Cudicin, Martyn, Wright, Dudek, Kirkland, Niemi, Hislop and there's loads more whcih I cannot be bothered to write.

Ian Walker had about 3 bad games last season where he made howlers. Seaman and Shemiechcal(sp) even had the odd bad game. The greatest keepers in the world even have the bvad game. Its unfair to judge him on that. Judge him on the whole season, behind a weak defence, he has been quality.

No he hasn't!

Ian Walker was quality in his first season with us behind a weak defence. Norwich's defence isn't actually as bad as other teams. Like ours in 01/02

1 bad game, and your calling him shit. He is far better than Walker. End off! He will have more England caps than Walker will have I gurantee you that.

70018[/snapback]

I know he will, but that is because of one bad game against Ital for walker, or else he could have replaced seamen when he retired. There isnot much difference between James and Robinson and Walker, whereas Kirkland and Green are overrated. I think Robinson is also a bit hyped up.

Anyone can produce a list of all the premier keepers but how many of them would be classed as 'truly great'

I think you answered this in your next post:

There is not much difference between James and Robinson and Walker, whereas Kirkland and Green are overrated. I think Robinson is also a bit hyped up.

Kirkland being in your list above who you then state as being 'overrated', so is James who you compared to Robinson who you then go on to say is a bit hyped.

I repect your views about the current quality, as always it's subjective, but at least try to put forward a cohesive argument.
