Ian Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 Apparantly we are interested in Rab Douglas from Celtic! Does this mean that our negotiations with Walker are not going so well??
Steven Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 Apparantly we are interested in Rab Douglas from Celtic!Does this mean that our negotiations with Walker are not going so well?? 69812 No I think he is shopping around for keepers in general as it is a position that requires some attention.
Ric Flair Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 We were linked with this sweaty before we got Taylor. I can't see why we can't try and sign Taylor permanently if we fail to tie Walker down for another year or so. I would like a younger goalie preferably. Also, he was shit against Rangers on sunday.
BartonFox Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 He is utter crap, I mean total bollocks. He is behind Neil Sullivan and a couple of teenagers for the number one shirt for Scotland. He has been fairly poor for a couple of seasons now all but a Luis Figo penalty save in Braga a couple of years back. CL must be looking elsewhere for a GK, please.
foxesfan69 Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 He isn't that bad. I am sure he would make a more than steady back-up and maybe a decent number 1

I could be Celtic's 'keeper as no one other than Rangers ever gets a shot off against them
City Fan Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 A good signing but keeper wise i would prefer Rob Green..... 69910 Sorry I didn't know we had a transfer budget of about 3-5 million.....

Sturat Taylor and Ian Walker are better then him. He is over rated.

Guest Daniel Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 Rob Green is the best english goalkeeper by a distance.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 I think it's a little unfair to be overlooking Lars Hirschfeld already. You're all talking about either Douglas as a number two, Walker number one or Taylor number one. Lars has been brought here on a trial base contract until the end of the season and if he comes with the right attitude, which he has, he could well be our number two next season.

Green is a quality keeper but no way nearas good as Robinson. But I suppose I would prefer a 33 year old Ian Walker. He is far better.

Anish Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 I don't rate Rob Green either - did you not see the 3-0 defeat at Blackburn when Green fkced up for 2 of Blackburn's goals?

I believe Green has a lot of potential and could be fantastic in the future, but at present he doesn't strike me as being one of the best keepers in the PRemiership.
Oli Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 Ian Walker had about 3 bad games last season where he made howlers. Seaman and Shemiechcal(sp) even had the odd bad game. The greatest keepers in the world even have the bvad game. Its unfair to judge him on that. Judge him on the whole season, behind a weak defence, he has been quality.

Ian Walker was quality in his first season with us behind a weak defence. Norwich's defence isn't actually as bad as other teams. Like ours in 01/02

The standard is not as good as it used to be IMO.
