lookwhaticando Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Bristol City go top thanks to sticking 3 past Coventry who have duly dropped to second. Peter Taylor's Palace went 1-0 down at Carrow Road... and fans ain't happy (about Taylor). Oddly enough, the topic starter suggested a replacement for Taylor... Martin Allen. Another dismal display again and being outplayed by a completely average team. I'm sick of hearing we were unlucky and shuld've got something out of the game. [...] There is no passion or urgency about our play. We are probrably one of the blandest teams to watch now and a laughing stock amongst other teams. I would love to see a passionate manager come in and on the top of my list would be Martin Allen. He's a young upcoming manager and doesnt hide away from the truth unlike Taylor. [...] Taylor was a legend as a Player but as a manger he doesnt cut the mustard! Palace are currently 21st in the league. Meanwhile, Rob Kelly's tactical brilliance finally rubbed off on Paul Simpton... Preston North End finally won a game (by scoring their second goal of the season), condemning Sheffield Wednesday to a fifth straight league defeat - their worst start to a campaign ever, apparently.
Flexx Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 I still think Bristol will end up relegated, despite there recent form.
Tommeh Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Wednesday seem to be in big trouble, no doubt they'll get their 1st win soon when we visit Hillsbrough! And nice to see cov come crashing down to earth with a bang, huge win for Bristol city, who are beginning to look a real force at this level, credit to a man I wanted for the city job, Gary Johnson
Brainy Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Someone on the radio has actually tipped them to go up. Automatically. Never tipped them to struggle though.
Tevez Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 It's too early in the season for predictions, we'll see if they are there by Christmas.
Simi Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 I wouldn't think Taylor will be at Selhurst much longer now, Simon Jordan will be looking for that manager to get them in the Champions League where Palace rightly belong.
dandannieldanok Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Jordan will move for Warnock soon in my and the tabloids opinion.
Geo V Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 I still think Bristol will end up relegated, despite there recent form. i doubt that. These results just prove that there are no outstanding teams at this level and even promoted clubs can do OK, just like Colchester did last season.

Finchy Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 ha one of them on that forum thing think Palace are the biggest club in the championship
Mikey Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Pfffttt. The Championship only showed the 2 goals. Surely could have showed the disallowed goals, the shots that hit the post and bar (especially Clemence) and also DJ's shot cleared off the line.

Disallowed goals? Whose? If anyone went, why didn't we win? Were we any good? Did we show any promise? Is there life after death? How did Cort do?
Joe. Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Disallowed goals? Whose? If anyone went, why didn't we win? Were we any good? Did we show any promise? Is there life after death? How did Cort do? One from DJ and one from Cort. Both looked dubious 1. We just couldn't finish/ some bad luck. 2. We were alright. We had to resort to QPR's long ball way of playing too often though. Either way we dominated for most of the game and should have won. 3. The promise could be there, we just need to be more clinical. 4. Cort wasn't really impressive but it was his first start for ages.

When you say 'dubious', is that dubious goals or dubious disallowed goals? I've just read a thread about Mr Cort. It appears he was shite and not at all match fit. It's the lack of fire power that bothers me. Well. Not the lack of, but the efficiency of that fire power. Bring back Matt and Mark, it seems..

I would say they were dubiously disallowed, although I haven't seen Cort's disallowed goal again. DJ's looked perfectly good.
