ronnup Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 Just been talking to a mate, and wondering if the decision to bring Stearman on was cos he's a Leicester lad/fan and may inject some much needed passion. Would the bench have considered this? Or am I being a buffoon?

Would the bench have considered this? Or am I being a buffoon? To be honest, i thought it was because Bruno was knackered and we needed fresh legs on the right to deal with kommons
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 I think the LCFC fan thing did come into it else he could have moved Chambers to right-back and brought Ferreira on to chase the equaliser.
BedsFox Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 I thought it was a good substitution N'Gotty was knackered, and distribution was poor all game Chambers was doing ok in CM, very fit and shown by his great run down the right before the equaliser Stearman offered fresh legs, better distribution and the outside chance of something if he got forward I think Ferreira for Sheehan might have been considered but he probably wanted Sheehan on still in case we got another set piece opportunity

Simi Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 I think the LCFC fan thing did come into it else he could have moved Chambers to right-back and brought Ferreira on to chase the equaliser. That's what I thought we were going to do, when he came on there were certainly a few bewildered fans around me who were unsure about the decision. But the rest as they is history!
dandannieldanok Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 Bruno was having a mare, especially with his distribution, and really should have been taken off earlier.
Staf Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 Thought it was a stupid sub at the time but fair play Megson and Taggart
