Vardinhio Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 Did anyone here do a FT working placement as part of their course at uni? I'm now doing mine in my third year, at 5pm today I will have completed a month working in Nottingham. During this time I've learnt some valuable things and have had the opportunity to travel to a number of different cities including a trip to head office in Germany. The whole 9-5 thing does take a lot of getting used to though and its strange thinking that I'll be doing it for another 11months. Any advice or past experiences to speak of?
Monk Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 I worked at IBM in my placement year, down in Pompey. Absolutely loved it, and you do definately learn a lot and make contacts for after your degree. I know a fair few people who have gone back to where they worked during placement and also I would never have got my job in Banking without a blue chip company on my CV. Sounds like you've landed yourself a good job if you get to travel to Germany - they must value you if they pay for you to go out there. 9-5 is so easy though, I now work 8-6 or 8-630. 9-5 would be an absolute breeze to me. I wouldnt know what to do with all that extra spare time ha. Hope you keep enjoying it
