Greenwalker Posted 25 November 2007 Posted 25 November 2007 Just shows you that Holloway thinks the Argyle playing staff are not good enough to mount a real promotion challenge dont it? Funny thing that, cause i think it would be very naive to think that you will stand a chance of getting promoted this season.
The Reverend Posted 25 November 2007 Posted 25 November 2007 Funny thing that, cause i think it would be very naive to think that you will stand a chance of getting promoted this season. You are an idiot. I never at any point said we would get promoted. This time next season, you will be where you should be - a relegation battle. All your best players contracts will have ran out, so they will have left you, you wont have anything. And next season, we will be battling it out for promotion. And as an adise, Ollie obviously thinks he can get the quality in for us in January, doesnt he?
lcfc_jme Posted 25 November 2007 Posted 25 November 2007 What the hell, are you having a laugh? I have been posting on this forum sensible posts for a few days now and all i had was abuse!! You leicester fans are all hypocrites, seriously. Get a life and grow up. As i have said before i dont give a shit hes left, he was a good manager and im happy for him. You lot jsut come across as a load of northerners who think they know everything. Money doesnt rule football, Results do and so do league positions. And you want to know what? we are higher then you. Forgive me if I've confused you with someone else, but I've read so much shit from bitter Plymouth fans over the last couple of days and haven't commented, and I was just pissed off. Leicester fans are all hypocrites? Plymouth fans are pissed off at us and Holloway for going to another club whilst he was in charge down where you are, yet many of your fans want to steal Swindon's manager, Mr Paul Sturrock? Can't have it both ways, I'm afraid. Money doesn't rule football? Haha, I don't know what game you follow if you think that's not true, but it definitely isn't football. Money is everything in football. Players go where they're going to get the most money. Teams who offer the most money get the players. Managers want to work where they're going to have the most money to spend. Managers want to work where they're going to get the highest salary. The teams with the most money have the better facilities. You're right to an extent, football is based largely around results, but if we're honest Plymouth will never have the potential to be in the Premiership that we have here if they don't get the same levels of investment other teams do. And just so you know, we're not Northerners. For goodness sake we're in the middle of England. MIDLANDS.. It's not our fault that everyone in the Football League is North of your lot. Good day, Sir.

COYGs Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Good post mate. You are one of the few Plym fans that are not bitter and for that I salute you sir. You clearly have good knowledge of the game, it's just a shame that all of your other supporters dont. What Holloway did to you by saying that he loved Plym and everything about it was wrong , but everyone has ambitions and IMO Plymouth was a one way cul de sac. In the long run Leicester will be a top team for years to come and for Plymouth there is doubt that they will be. Holloway is chasing his dreams, you cant knock him for that. Your are correct and you can't knock him for that, personally I have moved away on a couple of occasions due to the money paying better or to better my carreer and it is no different in football than any other field. I would not say he was in a One way cul de sac here in Plymouth but I certainly beleive he has a better chance of getting Premiership football on a regular basis with your set up and backing than we have, as mentioned above by one of your posters about us not being able to mount a REAL promotion challenge. I can honestly hold my hand up and say that until we have top financial backing then we will never be able to enter a season knowing we can get promotion, this is not to say that we wont get there as you will know as well as me that once you get into the Play Offs then it is a lottery, apart from Watford and Charlton this season who I think will succeed, the other places are up for grabs from any number of teams. The One thing Ollie has at his disposal is a chairman who who has took a team from a similar position to you into the Premiership and kept them there, clubs like us (as Watford found out last year) will basically look well out of place and come straight back down if we were ever to slide in via the play offs, from Ollies point of view he knows that he will be backed and have a much better chance of staying there. I hear that some Argyle fans are planning a Ollie Book burning cerimonial outside the Walkers in the new year when we visit, that itself will show you how sad some fans are, to me that is embarrassing. Most Argyle fans are a decent bunch and as you will already know we travel in big numbers and support very vocally, look forward to beating you up at yours
shrood Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Knobheeds! Cant wait to outsing the to$$ers at the Walkers library!! Well they got one thing right.

Now we can have Paul Sturrock and really go places. See you in the Prem if you make it!

See you in the Prem if you make it! That's how we felt about Megson and they've just beaten Manchester United. Have a bit of class.
