Suffolk_fox Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 Just had a look at PASOTI and man! Are they bitter little inbreds buggers or what? If Ollie's football tactics were so bad, why are they so angry at his departure? Methinks they need more practice at losing managers. They are amateurs, we are professionals....

Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 Not like u saw us moaning when Megson left... the two-faced money grabbing Judas! (What I'm trying to say is that Megson WAS a Judas, but cos he's about as much use as a football manger as a custard football*, we ain't complaining. What they actually mean to be saying is, "Waaaaaaaaaaaah, we lost a good manager cos we are a small town club!!!" ) *I'm feeling inspired by Holloway
Cal Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 Plymouth fans need to grow up, This is football..
Thracian Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 It's a good sign really. It's when the fans of former clubs don't give a shit that I worry.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 November 2007 Posted 25 November 2007 I really do think anyone is all they're doing is enjoying the moment, we know from experience it rarely lasts. Absolutely... a charming rogue who seduces you, wines and dines you, flatters you and nicks your wallet is highly preferable to one who clubs you from behind, sticks the boot in to make sure, nicks your wallet and gags and binds you leaving you in the gutter for the next ne'er-do-well to find. ie... Holloway - Megson
Bryn Posted 25 November 2007 Posted 25 November 2007 Plymouth fans can keep on spouting all they like, because they look really, really pathetic. I'd think that no matter what club I supported. In fact I'd be ashamed to be an Argyle fan right now.

Wezleylowski Posted 25 November 2007 Posted 25 November 2007 Is anyone remotely bothered about Plymouth? They are an oscure mediocre football team with no history or aspirations. They have had there manager poached by a bigger club with more potential. Oh and there fans are wank too
COYGs Posted 25 November 2007 Posted 25 November 2007 Is anyone remotely bothered about Plymouth? They are an oscure mediocre football team with no history or aspirations. They have had there manager poached by a bigger club with more potential. Oh and there fans are wank too I think you should be more ashamed of your bunch of under performers and poor management since your relegation out of the top flight, As you can guess I am a Plymouth Fan First of all not everybody is bitter and twisted with Holloway, as a person who has a few times shared a few drinks with him in his Old Local (The Millbridge) he is a decent man, many of Plymouth fans will say that he betrayed them and to a extent he did, however, some also realize that he done a decent job on the field and at the end of the day that is what counts. A few things you might want to know about him and what your in store for (if you have not already heard) He will play a regulation 4-4-2 with Two pacey strikers up front and look to play the game on the deck and not in the air, he is also likely to keep or sign any player who is described as a Target Man as he likes the option of throwing A Target Man on if you are hcasing the game late on. Ollie will look to play a real high line with the back Four and although it does succeed be prepared to get frustrated when you lose a couple goals by playing this way. Plymouth have improved the Away form since Ollie arrived and we have had a lot of good results and plenty of goals on the Road, in his last 10 away games we won 5, Lost 2 and Drew 3 whilst Scoring 16 goals, this goes to show he likes to play attacking football. Ollie is a big moaner when things do not go his way, he will blame Refs and Luck at every opportunity and defend his players on everything possible, discipline is not his strong point and you will see a lot of yellow cards flying about due to the players aggressive in your face approach (which is not a bad thing). whilst on Discipline we have seen 3 of our players arrested, One was arrested for Sticking a Glass pitcher over the Club Captain Paul Wottons head during a pre season tour to Austria (requiring over 100 stitches) resulting in the player being sacked, One player arrested Twice for Fighting down the town and another player more recentely being arrested for (Suppossedly)Bottling a Club Doorman which is yet to be concluded. You will hear the Man Ollie big up your area and club and everything about it, this is the norm for most managers but expect a bit more from Ollie, Also be prepared for him to Promote everything about your club through various media routes, he is a big fan and vice verso of Soccer am and likes to get himself into the media spotmlight as much as possible, this is all very good for your club but after a year it will wear off and start to annoy the hell out of you Ollie is very approachable and will spend time with fans and have a drink no problem at all, he is definately a working class man and likes to mix with your average normal day Character, he has a lot of time for his wife and family and speaks his mind. From a Transfer point of veiw he has a decent pedigree although Gary Penrice does his scouting for him and always has done as you will find out soon. He has used the loan system well for us and had Two outstanding youngsters In Scott Sinclair and now Lee Martin who have done a great job for us, he has also aqquired the services of 2 outstanding players for our club in Marcel Seip (Dutch) and Peter Halmosi (Hungarian), these Two are the best players we have ever owned ourself IMO. The one thing that seemd a problem with us and prevented us finishing in the play offs last year was the evedent amount of Drawn games, like I mentioned earlier he likes to attack and this can backfire, on a number of occasions we were turning 1-0 or 2-1 winning positions into draws due to the open approach. When Ollie joined us from QPR we were told that the brains were really in the head of his coaches and Ollie just done the talking, this seems to be quite accurate and I expect that his backroom staff will follow him to you (which I would not want as they are fantastic). Please don't take all us Plymouth fans as idiots due to a number of fans who are just bitter and twisted due to a couple lies (we have all told white lies have we not?). I understand the game and just like us Poaching a manager of some club smaller than us you will do the same to clubs that are smaller than yours. I have always had a soft spot for leicester and there fans after your efforts in the premiership with what is basically the same sort of difference between our clubs now in terms of finance, you always had to sell your best players and had the unfortuanate situation of Martin O Neil being stolen from you which leads me to the main objective of Money, it has ruled our game for a decade and will continue to do so. however, it is the results on the pitch that count at the end of the day and you have to respect that Plymouth are at this moment in time a better team than Leicester, if your club is managed properly then that should not remain the situation but in the mean time we will just continue to progress each season in the manner we have for the last Six and watch all the other mismanaged clubs fall below us. Good night

Wezleylowski Posted 25 November 2007 Posted 25 November 2007 Good post mate. You are one of the few Plym fans that are not bitter and for that I salute you sir. You clearly have good knowledge of the game, it's just a shame that all of your other supporters dont. What Holloway did to you by saying that he loved Plym and everything about it was wrong , but everyone has ambitions and IMO Plymouth was a one way cul de sac. In the long run Leicester will be a top team for years to come and for Plymouth there is doubt that they will be. Holloway is chasing his dreams, you cant knock him for that.
