If he is the player you claim, how come he hasn't featured for the 1st team?

For the reasons I've stated - that he's a bit small and light for a first team striker. And, because City had expensive new signings in Cort and Campbell who they'd intended to use along with Hume and Fryatt.

McKay's always been on a part with Odhiambo but Eric got the greater pre-season opportunities until being sent out on loan while McKay stayed as a mainline striker for the Reserves with Sappleton and Kee, once fryatt had proved his fitness and returned to the first team.

McKay's job now is to gain experience and start scoring with the same regularity as he did in the Academy - around 18 goals a season, roughly the same as Odhiambo who is, of course, back now.

McKay's had an injury recently but is doing okay generally and I'd expect to see his influence at his new level growing during the second half of the season although pressure on places will be keen and it is not impossbile that he might be sent out on loan.

Ok but 18 goals a season is hardly eye catching. Another thing i cant understand is, why is Kee scoring so many? I imagine he has scored more than 18 already and it isnt even christmas! Has there been a sizable drop in the standard of football this season? Or is he something special do you think?

Every game I've seen of the reserves/academy McKay has been in midfield so his goal count will understandably drop.

I think Kee has been so prolific for the Academy because of his build, he's able to use his greater strength to 'muscle' defenders out of the way. That's not to say he hasn't got skills but he will need to rely more on them and less on his strength the further up the ladder he goes.

McKay's contribution may be slightly better than it looks considering the situation nowadays where players often play no more than an hour.

McKay scores in one and two's mainly but Kee scores in blocks. He sometimes gets three and even four in a game but then goes quiet for a while.

Kee, like Sappleton packs a very powerful shot and is looking to shoot at every opportunity. He can look special no question but it is whether he'll still look special when everyone around him is fast, strong and organised - the sort of company he's starting to meet in the reserves.

Is there a drop in standard? Interesting question. With Leicester I've never been over impressed with their central defenders although they have gradually improved and this is often the case with kids - some start badly and improve beyond recognition later while others look brilliant to begin with but then become ordinary.

There are so many factors which play a part.

I've seen the train bit demonstrated.

He hit one kid with a 50-50 tackle against Blackburn which must have registered on the Richter Scale.

I'd think you'd want him on your side in a bundle.

You reffering to the challenge on the keeper? My god the keeper must be still feeling that now.

No it was a tackle on the right side of midfield second half. A real bone cruncher.
