Yeah but they're not even challenging for a UEFA Cup spot, which is part of the reason they are turning against Allardyce.

They say they are a massive club ( what have they won in recent times) sure they have a massive fan base... a massive stadium... some big named players... but no trophies?? It seems to me that you have to be god to run that club... they dont seem to have found that god yet though!! Sam Allardyce needs to be given more time, how can they expect so much in such a short space of time.... They wont be happy untill Alan Shearer is manager of that club, but who is to say that Shearer is naturally going to bring them silverware... That is nonsense if you ask me, just because he is geordie means nothing.... I fear for his reputation as a legend if it goes wrong for him when he gets that job because lets face it that will happen!! Who will they look towards after if shearer fails.... they really need to take a look at the key elements and face up to the facts that they have not been good enough. There is no doubt they can be a massive club, but that status is earned and Newcastle United Football Club has not earned that yet!!
