Mickey O'Neil Posted 14 January 2008 Posted 14 January 2008 Went Tesco's near me on Fosse Rd N yeterday and there were 27 people queuing for the cash machine! One of the gas-bags behind the till said it'd been like it all morning. Another Northern Rock going on or what? I thought I'd heard that A&L were/might be in trouble but that was a couple of weeks ago.
Unit Posted 14 January 2008 Posted 14 January 2008 might've been one of them dodgy cashpoints that pays out double? Nice to now you took the time to make sure there were exactly 27 people though
lookwhaticando Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Most likely it was just a busy period at that particular location. Alternatively, just an isolated problem with that particular machine. Or it may have been a network problem (which would have affected other cash points). Very unlikely, though, as there's no mention of such a problem. It's certainly not a 'Northern Rock' type situation. That's just not plausible. Bank runs such as that see all the bank's customers at the bank's branches - not individual cash machines, for obvious reasons. You can't withdraw all your savings from one cash machine - the daily withdrawal limit stops you in your tracks.
