They see someone as successful and don't want to write good things about them, so any bad run or mistake they make the press jump on them. Then the sheep who follow the media join in. It's sad, because Owen always done it for England and his clubs. The media licks Owen's testicles at any given opportunity. They never write anything bad about him. If anything, they do try to make up excuses for him. For the record, I do not hate Owen. I think he's a good player, but I also think he's a **** of the highest order. I don't believe he gives a shit about Newcastle. All he really cares about is getting his 100 grand a week, his horse racing and England national team. Under the McLaren/Sven era Owen was in a comfort zone, he was guaranteed a place in the team regardless how bad his form was. But now that Capello is in, he has realized that he might lose his place for good if he doesn't pull his finger out. Capello ain't no fool and won't pick Owen on reputation. So good on Owen that he's scoring goals again instead of taking shit for granted.
