Fox in a Box Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric today confirmed that it was very much 'business as usual' at the Walkers Stadium. The Foxes chief held a meeting with manager Ian Holloway and chief scout Gary Penrice on Monday afternoon. Chief executive Paul Aldridge was also present. And speaking to the club's official website, Mandaric confirmed that the discussions had been 'very productive'. He said: "Both Paul and myself met with Ian and Gary earlier this afternoon. We talked about where things went wrong and how we proposed to put them right. "This has been the most disappointing period during my time in football, but it has made me more determined than ever to make things work here. We will leave no stone unturned in our quest for success. "This is not about individuals - it's about what is right for the club. This discussion was the first in a long line of meetings that will occur. We have to cover every base in our attempt to get it right. "We will now take what we have learnt today to our next Board meeting to discuss with our fellow directors. "We have to instil a winning mentality here. This club has been going nowhere for the last four years and I am not prepared to tolerate that any longer. "This has been a very bad time for everyone at the club but I think we can come out of it stronger from the experience, if we get things right from now on." http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Lates...1311092,00.html http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/7391725.stm
Eastern Fox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 "We have to instil a winning mentality here. This club has been going nowhere for the last four years and I am not prepared to tolerate that any longer. That depends on the coaching staff and the manager, so why is Holloway staying? Managers are responsible for buying players with the right attiutude and motivating the players to win. Holloway has failed in both respects. Unless he was temporarily mentally ill last season, he isn't going to change next season in those respects.

Eastern Fox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 calm down. ?? It's pretty frustrating what MM says. Do you really think Holloway can instill a winning mentality based on his performance last season.
Jon the Hat Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 ?? It's pretty frustrating what MM says. Do you really think Holloway can instill a winning mentality based on his performance last season. You might be harsh to judge him on a season when he came in half way through, to take over a team who had 3 managers already, and had been taught how to be Megson defensive. I am not sayng he is blameless but clearly if Milan can take some of the reposnsibility (and he is by not sacking Ian) then who are we to argue with him. Holloway installed a winning mentality at Plymouth. It might just take longer here given what has gone before for so many years.
