Frenzied Posted 11 April 2005 Posted 11 April 2005 Since Levein has come to Leicester we've seen somewhat of a quiet revolution - a change from the quick fix philosophy, to a more long-term and realistic way of building a football team. He's brought in a number of young and potentially very good players and it seems we are set for more of the same. Compare this to the Adams doctrine, whereby several past-it, former Premiership players were brought in that could have given us promotion this season (although failed miserably) but I believe next season we would have been relegated again with that formula. Levein's plans are, as I have mentioned long-term; therefore, we ought not be too disappointed if we don't get promotion next season. The important thing for Leicester City is to be able to gain promotion and stay up but this can take time. In order to do this we need a solid foundation, which is precisely what Levein is creating. added to this we are at times playing some of our best football for years. It wasn't long ago that LCFC almost disappeared totally, so we should be grateful that we have the opportunity with a manager like Levein to build something of real substance. However, if we fail to get promoted next time around and the fans get on his back, we may lose what could be the start of the most successful era at the club ever. Patience and belief is what is key from the fans.
SilverFox Posted 11 April 2005 Posted 11 April 2005 Good post. Patience is key. This may not happen next year because we really are going through a transition. MA brought in journeymen for a season...this is now about stability - building on that - consolidation - then promotion. Don't get me wrong, I'd take promotion if it were possible, but I think it will take time!

I think promotion this season would have been a bit premature though. Let's hope the fans can really see what's going on at Leicester and realise their are no quick fixes to long-term stability and Premiership status.

C-man Posted 11 April 2005 Posted 11 April 2005 If we can get close to the Play-offs next year i will be quite pleased, playoffs or better and i'll be ecstatic. I think we're capable, but we'll have to see who Levein brings in during the summer
