Monk Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 So you jolly bunch, has anyone on here done any extreme or unusual sports/activities? My housemate took up power kiting earlier this year and it looks awesome, the kite is so powerful it lifts him off the ground pretty easily. I'd quite like to have a go myself.... I've always really enjoyed white water rafting when I've gone, but I don't think there are too many great places to go in this country. Ones I'd like to try: Bunjee jump Climbing (I live less than a mile from a climbing wall so would be good to give that a go) Surfing (never tried it) Hang gliding. White water kayaking Anyone done any of these or any others worth mentioning, dude?
Wilbur Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Surfing and Snowboarding for me - I do a little bit of surfing on the southcoast in the summer, but get as much time as i can snowboarding at the Snowdome in Tamworth. It's freakin' awesome. Hopefully off to Colarado in the new year for some proper powder.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Surfing and Snowboarding are hardly extreme sports...............as i have done both. Pub Golf is extreme

I was in Colorado a couple of months ago, the rockies are beautiful I'm sure you'll have a great time. I've been to Tamworth dome a few times it's pretty good fun, and not too expensive. I'm in London now so maybe Milton Keynes would be a better choice... The only thing with snow sports is that I'm bound to break a bone, I don't have the best coordination in history....

I was at the Snowdome on Friday, it was heaving - bad time of year as all of the 'once a year' Skiiers like to make sure their lurid jumpsuits still fit and they can remember how to do it. Come about May the prices all go down by a third and you get the place virtually to your self. MK is supposed to be good, though I've not been there myself. I'm 6'5" so my balance and coordination aren't the best either! it's all about practise, well practise and padding A good mate of mine has just gone out to the states to work for the season driving people between Denver airport and the resort. Hopefully I can get some cheap flights and crash on his floor for a while.
