Went to see the vics play close to 2 years ago and i told the 3 blokes i was with Siddle will play for Australia, he will only improve.

Ronnie is a trier nothing special ya typical all rounder not many hundreds but plenty of 50's and allways seems to get a couple of wickets (in first class)

Fair nuff,

Got to say, Johnson's run-out impressed me, that boy is a legend.

Smith out for 6 weeks, broken finger, won't play for rest of the tour.

About time you Aussie's put some runs together wasnt it? Michael Clarke is far to good a batsmen to play for Australia.

Roo where is Shaun Tait?

He quit cricket, for a total of about 1-2 months about he was suffering from Depression / Stress.

But his back and bowling well but not enough for selection, but he is pushing for a recall for the tour of South Africa in about 7 weeks.

The issue is he has a poor econemy rate and that will all ways hold him back imo

SoccerooFox- How much you reckon Australia need to be safe, seeing as RSA have been doing the unexpected with their batting in the 2nd innings?

450 safe leaving them a day and 10 overs to get on a wicket that has uneven bounce, and a smith less batting attack.

but they will give them 420 to chase i reckon.

I reckon your right, only having 10 batsmen will give RSA no chance. Thinking it will be a draw....

Never underestimate a JP Duminy

Why won't they pick Cam White? He's a decent allrounder, with more National Team experience than Ronald McDonald.

Cos tighty whitey can't bowl (fook that hurts to say that about our fearless skipper) he doesn't even bowl himself which is a shame as he was dubbed the next Shane Warne as an 18 yr old, but turned himself in to an all rounder now a very good bat

Wow whey!!! what a test match.

At work all day, all the guys were getting up dates on our computer, then things were getting tence with still a wicket to get 4 overs in the day and the impending storms that had been hovering over the game all day look like it was going to hit leaving the game as a draw.

Left work with 3 of us briskly walking to catch our train watching the cricket on my mates phone, as we walk past about 20 guys in suits peering in to a shop window watching the match. Then on the 11th ball left in the test match Mitchell Johnson bowled Smith who went out to bat with a broken arm just to save the test match when every one on the train started cheering once we told them the news.

Was really a great day and a perfect example of why Test match cricket is and always will be streets above the other forms of the game, 5 days of cricket leading til the second last over, all the drama of will Smith bat or not, will it rain a dodgy LBW decsion, a dropped catch really is what Cricket is about

Understatement of the century, blimey it would have missed another set!!! but what was AB thinking??? should have just left it well alone. I'm looking forward to the ashes now, should be relatively well matched teams. Will Haydos be making the short trip soccerroo??? or is that him done and dusted. Mind you if he does just bring back Hoggy!!! Haydos=Hoggy's bunny.

Haydos will be picked for South Africe, god knows why he doesn't deserve to. The one day squads got selected today with no Haydos maybe it is signs to come but i doubt it.

fack, great test, edge of seat stuff in the final 5 overs.

but fair play to smith, survived a lot longer than i thought he was going to with his finger and elbow.

such a good test, didnt give a crap bout the result.

BUT the pitch was a load of crap, cracks galore on day 3, by day five it was almost unplayable.

Shaun Tait's 155km an hour thunderbolt that hit De Villers in the hip, causing him too drop fall down in pain dropping his bat on the stumps was a sight to behold
