Leicester City U18 4-2 Charlton Athletic U18

Recommended Posts

Not seen this anywhere :dunno:

Leicester City's academy side returned to action after their winter break with a convincing 4-2 victory over Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

The Foxes fell behind shortly before the break but recovered well with goals from Jorrin John, Craig King, Robbie Burns and Nathan Hicks (pictured) at the Belvoir Drive training ground.

Despite a convincing start the Foxes were unlucky not to be behind in the eighth minute when a header rebounded back off Robert Ambrusics' crossbar.

Elliott Chamberlain's volley was well saved moments later before Cian Bolger connected with a Joe Cobb corner but his header was cleared.

And it was another set piece that caused chaos at the back for City - a headed corner put the visitors ahead in the 41st minute.

However the Foxes were level two minutes later when a Burns cross was met by John who fired home to make the scores level at the break.

King struck two minutes after the restart before Burns made it three after good work from Liam Moore.

Hicks combined with King to put the game beyond the Addicks in the 65th minute before the visitors grabbed a late consolation.

Steve Beaglehole's side return to action next Saturday when Aston Villa are the visitors to Belvoir Drive.

City: Ambrusics, Milnes, Bolger, Parkes, Cobb, Burns, C King, Moore, Hicks, John, Chamberlain
