Smudge Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I've watched a few Blu Rays on it, its a bloody great picture, clean as a whistle, though its the only Blu Ray screen ive ever seen so i've nothing to compare it to really.I'd probably be best not to go into Cymbiosis - I'd probably walk out with about £300 worth of gear...i'm a sucker for the hard sell So the PS3 HDMI is plugged in, so say I had a surround sound system that was HDMI compatible - are you saying I just connect the PS3 via HDMI and the one HDMI lead carries both audio and video signals, and then the surround sound systmem is connected to the TV via some other connection? Cymbiosis yeah I know That all depends on the processor/ receiver you buy. A decent one will take any signal and upsample the image to 1080p. lesser ones will just pass through the HDMI signal. I don't live in the UK so I'm unsure how your TV signal comes in but here's how I have my system hooked up. I have a cable box, but satellite would be the same; the signal enters the house by coaxial cable. The output from that box is HDMI and goes to the surround receiver which has 3 HDMI inputs. One of these I use to receive the DVD picture. The receiver then sends the signal via one cable to the TV from which ever source you are using. The receiver also has "audio ins" from my CD player, turntable and "Apple Airport". The outputs go to the speakers and sub.
