I am a rank amaetur, however for some reason my girlfriend is looking at me to join together the legs and really heavy oak table top she has aquirred. It's darn ugly, but a relative gave it to her and it cost a lot of money, so thats ok then! But to the point - I have some wood screws and a drill - and my girlfriend insists thats all i require to join the two peices. However, there are holes from the previous joining of the peices and I'm not convinced that just drilling the screws into the existing holes will work. Please advise me before I bugger up an old peice of oak!
