BoneDog Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Day One over... and already my first yellow.I also gave a penalty for handball on the line, but in actual fact it hit his chest. My only mistake though. TV Replay?
BoneDog Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 special = learning disabilitiespara = physical impediments Well I never knew that, I thought it was the same thing and there was just one Olympics for both.
Rodders Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Someone i know whos in that who weighs at least 18 stone is doing the pole voult.Yes the fooking pole vault how high did he manage? He didn't manage a single jump, as there was no pole vault competition. And I should know; I've been at the athletics all week as a volunteer. Just four field events: long jump, standing long jump, shot put, softball throw. No javelin, thankfully. Great effort from all the athletes, regardless of age, shape and level of disability, fantastic sportsmanship all round, and some really memorable performances.
Ultra Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Went to the closing ceremony at Abbey Park. It was good to see everyone (including the Scottish and Welsh) join in the minute's applause for Sir Bobby Robson. This has been one of the best weeks the city has had for a long time. The effects will be felt for years to come.
