Over 40s football league

Me and a few mates were wondering if anything like it exists in this area. I know of some elsewhere in the country.

Basically, we are looking at 11 a side, full pitch etc. We might struggle with 90 mins mind you - 30 mins each way would be great. We're not bothered if it's anything too formal, just a 'kick around' would be ok.

We're no way near the 'Father Ted' over 70s priests level of immobility but cant 'cut-it' with youngsters now. Well, not without resorting to less than sporting tactics.

There is a veterans league, think you have to be over 35. Play matches every 2 weeks to allow injuries to recover, apparently there is loads of fouling and it's pretty nasty, when the pace has gone you resort to kicking.

Thanks for the link.

Re the fouling. Yes, I'm aware of that - been guilty of it myself, hence my comment at the end of my OP. Trouble is; some of us would qualify for a 'over 50s' league so anything too physical would cut us in half now.

One of the 'lads' I know who is playing in the veterans league is about 20 stone (5'8" tall) and 48 years old, was a good player in his day but that is long behind him, can't fault him for still trying though.
