Samilktray Posted 8 March 2010 Posted 8 March 2010 Anyone on here use this? Just looking for any tips for it, and where I can find good sound packs (not sure of the proper name) for different drums, synths etc etc. Started a few songs but they just a bit empty at the minute
Edmund Posted 9 March 2010 Posted 9 March 2010 Yeah I use it. The best advice I could give is trawl youtube for tutorial videos as you'll find it very hard to learn by yourself. Which version are you using and are you using express or pro? As for sample packs I can upload a few for you to get you going if you want? I've got an external dedicated to them so got shit loads. I'm guessing you want some hip hop/dubstep packs? http://forum.audionews.ru/ is the best place for any audio software/sample packs if your that way inclined. They only open registration at the beginning of each month. I'm sure you'll be able to find lots of over packs in the meantime but that site is recommended as they are a dedicated audio software site.

Logic Pro 8, and yeah uploading some of them would be great cheers mate. What extra gear should I look into investing in for it also?
Edmund Posted 9 March 2010 Posted 9 March 2010 Logic Pro 8, and yeah uploading some of them would be great cheers mate. What extra gear should I look into investing in for it also? I will upload a pack for you now but it will take a while as they are 650 mb - 2gb each! When I get back in it should hopefully be done. http://www.dnbwiki.com/index.php/Free_Samples - To get you started there are shit loads of free samples here, mainly dnb though. In terms of gear, the most important thing is a good pair of studio monitors/headphones, audio interface maybe. Their are loads of hardware synths available at great cost so your best sticking with the software versions. If you've got Logic pro you should have a load of plug ins to get you started which are inclusive. Your best off learning those inside out as they cover the full spectrum and their is no real need to get any third party software just yet. Maybe a couple of synths to look out for are albino and massive but be prepared to spend lots od hours learning how they work.
