lcfc_jme Posted 22 March 2010 Posted 22 March 2010 First Half: Weale - 6 (Honestly had next to nothing to do) Viva Solano - 7 (Defensively sound, composed and offered some support) Jaaaaaack - 8 (Guy was an absolute steal for us, absolute hero) Hoof - 7 (Did enough, would have to have a 'worldie' to stand out next to England's future skipper) McGivern - 7 (Did well enough in my opinion, getting a lot of unfair criticism; best he's played at fullback) Wellens - 8 (Some quality, cutting FORWARD passing and his fair share of defensive work, top drawer) KING - 9 (Brilliant in defense and ALWAYS offered going forward, well taken and well deserved two goals, unlucky not to have a 'trick) Oakley - 7 (OK but overshadowed by his midfield companions) Gally - 7 (Quality deliveries and a beauty of a cross for King's 2nd; would like to see him bust a gut and put himself about more, though) Lloyd - 8 (Terrified Covs' back-line every time he got the ball, put in a few decent balls and was a constant threat) Waggy - 8 (Led the line like an experienced, powerhouse center-forward; did Howards' supposed role and also what Fryatt offers - minus the goals - all by himself. Beast) 2nd half: Weale - 6 Defenders - 6, with Jack picking up a 7 Midfield 3 - Anonymous, so 5's or 6's, take your pick. Front 3 - Feeding off of scraps and being bypassed by aimless hoofing for the most part, so again 5's or 6's depending on how you saw it.
okie fox Posted 22 March 2010 Posted 22 March 2010 Weale -7- Not much to do Solano -7- Technically excellent. Some super passes. Reads game well. Why take him off? Hobbs -8- Letting him go was another Benitez mistake! Morrison -7- Good in air. He and Hobbs kept C. Morrison, Stead and Eastwood quiet. McGivern -6- Did nothing wrong. Bit slow in closing down. Turned up in odd areas, but maybe instructed to follow someone Wellens -7- Worked hard to unlock their defence King -7- 2 goals. Linked up well Oakley -6- Not bad. Worked hard Gallagher -7- Useful player Waghorn -6- Beaten up. Worked hard for the cause Dyer -7- Pace always a threat SUBS Kermogant -4- Slow and useless. Waste of space IMO. Why not N'Guessan instead? I know he often disappoints, but at least he scores and has a good game every now and then. Putting Kermogant on just let them press even further up the pitch. Brown -6- Good in air Howard -5- Fouling just took pressure off them
Guest Posted 22 March 2010 Posted 22 March 2010 Weale 8 - didn't have a chance with the first, second was off side - did everything else asked of him. Solano 7 - shone at times Morrison 7 - Solid Hobbs 8 - very good game but why did he shoot with so many attackers a head of him near the end McGivern 7 - best game I've ever seen him play - was actually beneficial on the pitch, covered very well. King 7 - disappeared in the second half Wellens 8 - excellent closing down and passing in the 1st half, was only midfielder to play in the 2nd Oakley 4 - very disappointing perhaps it's time to step aside. Dyer 8 - very threatening, like it Gallagher 7 - great first half, disappeared a little in the second - good partner for waggers Waghorn 8.5 - sign him up Leicester's future - sell Matty and give Big Steve away Brown 7 - must have made 4 headed clearances in his first 2 minutes. The man knows how to control in the air. Kermorgant 4 - stop whinging and play Howard 4 - had hopes when he came on but he's lost too much pace now.
RowlattsFox Posted 22 March 2010 Posted 22 March 2010 Weale -7- Couple of good saves, couldn't really do much about goals. Solano -7- Superb distribution first half, was targeted by long ball second half but coped ok. Morrison -7- Reasonably solid without being superb. Hobbs -7- As above, not fantastic but good enough. McGivern -6.5- Played his part in an excellent first half team performance with some good forward runs. Defensively suspect at times but not as bad as some make out. Think some decided his rating before we even kicked off. Wellens -7- Very good first half but less effective second half. Oakley -6.5- Thought he was excellent first half, link up play with Gallagher and Oakley was superb at times. Looked tired second though, think the amount of games we've had recently are catching up with him. Rest on Wednesday for him, well I would anyway. King -8- Great finish for first, good header for the second. Can't fault him really. Gallagher -7- Another who was excellent first half but did nothing note second half. Waghorn -7- Workrate excellent as usual, struggled second half. Dyer -7.5- Always a threat, decision making is sometimes poor but on good form at minute. Kermogant -5- Never had a impact but nearly set up Dyer with a great first time cross. Not really ideal situation for him, N'Guessan would have been a better sub in my opinion. Brown -N/A- Can see why he was brought on but defensive changes late on are never a good idea. Howard -N/A- Only on for 5 minutes but managed to ruin two attacking position by needlessly fouling, pisses me off.
