Clive Redman Posted 18 June 2010 Posted 18 June 2010 In the latest blog looking back on his former Leicester City manages, this week, Walshy talks about the Mark McGhee 'era'... "McGhee left Reading in the lurch to join Leicester and did the same to City when Wolves came calling less than a year later, even though we were top of the league. He was very driven and ambitious, but that meant he was selfish and certainly didn’t seem prepared to show too much loyalty to any of his clubs, particularly earlier on in his managerial career." rico Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 quite sad the bit about Mike Galloway, well done Walshy for sticking by him after what was a pretty horrific accident remember Galloway winding up Duncan Ferguson at Filbert St which resulted in DF getting a red card:giggle:

Awful to have you love of the game and livelihood taken away from you in such a horrendous way. The England players last night could do with reminding how lucky they are to be paid to play football, and represent their country too.
Narborough_fox Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 Mike Galloway Bit before my time, what injuries did he get?
rico Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 think you should read the original post, all details in there

OzFox Posted 21 June 2010 Posted 21 June 2010 Mike Galloway Sounds like he's gone off the rails... http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/2008/08/15/former-celtic-star-mike-galloway-tasered-by-police-after-knife-siege-86908-20697647/
foxoffderby Posted 22 June 2010 Posted 22 June 2010 Who is Mike Galloway? Mikey Galloway was a tough little Scott. He was a 110% man every game. Aggresive in the tackle he played midfield and sometimes was used as a wingback. He was a bit like David Batty. Spider Kalac was the biggest joke City have ever had in the nets. He was a disaster. He was about 6'5 6'6 tall but his reflexes and handeling were very poor. Can't believe how he ended up at AC Milan ! Corica was a good little winger. He was a little pocket rocket, but faded towards the end of his city career and followed McGee to Wolves.
Sparky Posted 22 June 2010 Posted 22 June 2010 I may be in the minority but the best football ive ever seen a City side play was under Mcghee. The Corica/Parker/Taylor midfield 3 were a joy to watch

He obviously didn't impress Martin O'Neill though who was quoted as saying: "He thought he was better than he was"
Ike O'Noclassed Posted 22 June 2010 Posted 22 June 2010 I loved Scotty Taylor, the boy had bags of energy he was a bit like Robbie Savage but without all the drama. Turned up (minus hair) in the Wolves masters side that beat us recently, so pleased to see his ghastly luck with injuries hasn't left him permanently crocked. Still can't shoot to save his life, though.
