davieG Posted 20 September 2010 Posted 20 September 2010 Reading OS Strange timing, I suppose our OS will let us know later in the week.
North-LondonFox Posted 20 September 2010 Posted 20 September 2010 Anyone who hears anything about this please do post something - the OS is shockin for news on anything but the main squad! At least they're arranging a few games for the second string though - it can only help the likes of Jorrin John etc

Narborough_fox Posted 21 September 2010 Posted 21 September 2010 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2161132,00.html Chris Powell's young Leicester City side put in a spirited display today at Reading's Hogwood Park Training Ground, only to go down 2-1 to a more experienced team. The game started brightly for City, with the dangerous Ashley Chambers breaking through on the left. His searching run and cross found Craig King, whose despairing stretch could only find the side-netting. City continued to attack and played the ball with authority in the early stages. However, Reading's first attack resulted in the opening goal. A right-wing cross found Hal Robson-Kanu and his powerful header put the Royals ahead. After 20 minutes it was 2-0. A side foot finish from the accomplished Simon Church from just six-yards, punished a hesitant City backline and extended the home side's advantage against the run of play. There was further disappointment as Leon Crncic went off injured after 25 minutes, to be replaced by Elliott Chamberlain. Despite long periods of possession and decent headers at goal from Aman Verma and Chambers, City trailed 2-0 at the break. A scrappy start to the second-half meant that neither side had many clear-cut chances. As Chris Powell urged his side on from the sidelines, the Foxes got the break they were looking for. Intelligent build-up play gave Ashley Chambers a clear site on goal. Just as the threatening striker was about to shoot, he was scythed down in the penalty area, with referee, Dermot Gallagher pointing to the spot.. Chambers stepped up and sent the Reading 'keeper the wrong way, putting City right back in to the game. Powell made further changes late on, introducing Jeff Schlupp for Jorrin John, followed by a double substitution with Liam Moore coming on for Cian Bolger and Nathan Hicks on for Aman Verma. Unfortunately, the closest City came to an equaliser was through Nathan Hicks. With pretty much the last kick of the game, Hicks struck a screaming effort from just outside the penalty area, only for the Reading 'keeper, Alex McCarthy, to pull off a great save. City will think themselves unlucky, but can take heart from a positive, attacking display, against an experienced and well-organised Reading outfit. Chris Powell spoke to LCFC.COM after the game and was full of praise for his team. "I thought we played well and I'm proud of the way we stuck to the task. However, I've spoken to the lads about the importance of winning and I'm sure a positive result for these players is just around the corner." City: Ambrusics, O'Neill, Taft, Parkes ©, Bolger, Milnes, C.King, Verma, John, Chambers, Crncic. Subs: Gill, Norburn, Moore (for Bolger), Hicks (for Verma), Chamberlain (for Crncic), Schlupp (for John). Reading: McCarthy, Mills, Williams, Armstrong, Ingimarsson, Khizanishvili, Antonio, Taylor, Church, Hunt, Robson-Kanu Subs: Bell-Baggie, Locke, Joyce, Hector, Ugwu
Lillehamring Posted 21 September 2010 Posted 21 September 2010 that's another thing that annoys me about the OS, they do a picture special and don't caption any of the pictures, how are fans (and i'm thinking particularly of young fans) supposed to find new heroes when they don't even know what individual players look like,
