iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 9 March 2011 Share Posted 9 March 2011 What pubs will everyone be heading to ?
MC Prussian Posted 9 March 2011 Share Posted 9 March 2011 The Old Farmhouse (right next to Glanford Park) is the most obvious call.
Tommeh Posted 9 March 2011 Share Posted 9 March 2011 Yeah does seem the most obvious although may head into town from station then onto ground. If coming from station make sure you get taxi's, walked it last year, was a good half hour.
kylestyle06 Posted 10 March 2011 Share Posted 10 March 2011 Just a note, the pub near the ground is fairly decent, although it takes around 30 mins standing at the bar to get a drink... it gets crammed so you can't move, so if you're going there make sure you get 2/3 pints at a time
evs_the_fox Posted 10 March 2011 Share Posted 10 March 2011 I've been having a look at this as we're also treating ourselves to a full evening in Scunny afterwards. In the town there's the Honest Lawyer and then the Blue Bell (Wetherspoons) appears to be about 5-10 minute walk away too. If the one near the ground gets packed to the extent mentioned above then these may be better options... I've also seen that The Old Farmhouse is open to home and away fans but won't allow colours – again, that may not be right, just what I read here - www.footballgroundguide.com/scunthorpe_united/ Anyhoo, looking forward to it!

Early kick off viewing and Man United v Arsenal after are essential viewing with a lagerbier in hand.

Baracuda called the Abacus in town centre seems best bet.
Maybes Posted 10 March 2011 Share Posted 10 March 2011 Yeah thought it was quite family orientated in there. Town centre it is then. Should catch at least catch the second half.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 10 March 2011 Author Share Posted 10 March 2011 Sweet, not decided yet. Im driving up with 3 other mates so I'll be sober which won't be too much fun but nevermind. On another note, why isn't there a general pub thread ?
