Tom Hibbert RIP

Those who regard the 80s as a golden age of British pop will be distraught to learn that one of the chief scribes of that era has passed on.

Hibbert's name was familiar to readers of Smash Hits, before he moved on to its rather more mature stable mate Q. His "Who The Hell?" interviews of the time were among the few highlights of a generally dire decade.

Though ill-health brought a sadly premature end to his career, he is still fondly remembered by former members of his fanbase.

RIP.
