Leicester City vice-chairman Aiyawatt 'Top' Raksriaksorn says he will back the club's new manager with more funds – but has rejected suggestions he will have a £20million transfer kitty at his disposal.

However, Raksriaksorn, right, says budget discussions are entirely on the back-burner until City have their new man in place.

The club's Thai owners have already spent around £10m in a summer spending spree, bringing in the likes of Everton striker Jermaine Beckford and Reading skipper Matt Mills.

But, despite the outlay, City were down in 13th spot when the axe fell on Sven-Goran Eriksson earlier this week.

Asked whether he would back the new manager with more money, Raksriaksorn nodded and added: "I first have to decide who the new manager will be, and then we will decide about that."

The club's vice-chairman is keen for the focus of attention to switch to today's Championship clash at West Ham.

While he seeks a successor to Eriksson, Academy director Jon Rudkin, goalkeeping coach Mike Stowell and development coach Steve Beaglehole have taken charge of team affairs.

"Jon, Mike and Steve have a lot of experience and they know the club well. They have been here for quite a long time," said Raksriaksorn. "We know West Ham away is not going to be easy, but the players will be ready and we hope we can get the right result."

How long Rudkin, Stowell and Beaglehole hold the reins is still uncertain, but Raksriaksorn has indicated he would like the new man in place by the time City face Leeds at the King Power Stadium a week tomorrow.

It does look likely that the caretaker trio will also be in charge for Tuesday night's game at Burnley and Raksriaksorn added: "I don't have a timescale, but I will try, if possible, to get in the new manager before the home game."

As well as the domestic targets, City have also been linked with the likes of former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez and ex-Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti. Part of the owners' mission has been to promote City's name in the Far East, and around the world.

"We have not made any decisions," said Raksriaksorn. "But whoever gets us into the Premier League will be popular, no matter where he comes from. We have to wait and see."
