Ford Super Sunday Posted 12 December 2011 Posted 12 December 2011 A fair and predictable divvy up. ITV get the lionshare of the important matches in the group stage; 2 England games, 2 ROI games. Spain-Italy, Group B and D final games and choices 2 and 3 in the Quarter-Final, meaning they get the ROI if they qualify. Helps them maximise their advertising revenue should both England and ROI crash out in the early stages. Is interesting that BBC get the exclusive on the semi-finals. In past tournaments it's been the case that they've agreed to share an England semi-final, but this won't be the case. ITV chose not to have the final in 2008 though, so they're hedging their bets just in case England and/or ROI reach the final. The BBC won't be going to Ukraine/Poland (in a presenting capacity) unless England or the ROI reach the Quarter-Finals. Similar to what ITV did for the RWC a couple of months ago. Make use of MediaCity and stop the perrenial BBC bashers for a while, you'd hope. Roll on June.
