Ok 24+ hours after the woeful display (by most) of our players yesterday I have come to the conclusion that something bad is going on at the club behind the scenes. What that is I couldn't say but I have a theory please feel free to agree or disagree. Ok, the theory I have came up with is that the under performing players are playing badly because they (in my opinion) are sulking because sven was sacked. I think they had an easier time under sven and miss that because nigel is a disciplinarian and do not agree with the way he handles things. Now I know one of the arguements would be that it's most of nigels signings from the first time round are the some of the one's under performing and I would agree with that but you can get used to things being a certain way sven was here just over a year and humans by nature are creatures of habit and routine. So when something disturbs said routine it takes some time to get used to for some and for others they simply refuse to accept the change and moan about it. That's my theory as to why we are playing so bad. 2. Something that has quite annoyed me over the last day is the slating of the people on/off the pitch that don't warrent slating some of the people on here are spot on with the criticism of some of the players that are playing badly such as for example beckford has been criticised but I think some are jumping on the bandwagon a little bit. To me it feels like who can we blame next for us being crap at the moment with people slating (for example) Peltier yes he had a bad game yesterday but by far he was not the worst on the pitch and in some threads I have seen people slating schmeichel who in my opinion is the reason we aint further down the league. schmeichel and konchesky are constantly playing with passion and commitment. you can tell it is hurting them that we are doing so poorly just by looking at them yesterday. I'm not saying people shouldnt have an opinion because everyone has a right to have one, just please stop looking for someone to blame for the sake of it. rant over ps on a playstation 3 so sorry about the presentation (pc is knackerd)

flowwolf Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Think Peltier was left exposed due to Pearsons tactics when clearly non of the players knew what they were supposed to do either. Playing one striker up front at home stinks of desperation and poor management.

Beckford isn't a very good footballer. I think when he is running hot he can be a decent finisher but he's been running cold since he showed up here. Our turgid diplay was well formed by the time he came on yesterday though.

5waller5 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 I think you're right in that something is going on that we aren't privy to .... my hunch is similar to yours, that the players just don't like NP's style of football and aren't enjoying playing it. Your second point that people are looking for anyone to criticise is natural surely? We don't know who or what to criticise, but we are unanimous (although I'm sure someone is about to disagree) that it's not good enough so we are looking for a reason ... the same reason you came up with your theory?

I agree with you that it is natural, I just feel like there could be worse performing players that deserve the criticism rather than getting on someones back after 1 bad game. and its just a feeling I am getting after the past few home perfomances

But add his name to the cast of plenty who have been playing poorly. I agree with the original poster who was basically saying we have been doing too much singling out.
