Players in the right positions!

Good to see our players playing in the right positions today! No Danns or Beckford on the wing as we try to accommodate King and Wellens.

All I can say is the amount of positive posts on other threads about Beckford make me sick. Some of us have supported the lad all the way through and said he just needed the service. Hope all those who slagged him off hung their heads tonight.

Ditto Wellens who played in a much better position, and put through some killer balls.

Agree not to get carried away as Forest were and misse two sitters, but you can only beat whats in front of you, something we failed to do vs a very weak Ipswich, poor Pompey and average Barnsley.

Final note, great hat trick, but st ledger made a massive difference at the back! Just saying!

He doesn't just need the service, he's frequently been poor

Tonight he had a desire to chase every ball, to play off the shoulder of the last man & to drop deep to receive it... It's no surprise someone of his talent banged them in, once he'd sorted out the rest of the game.

He needs that desire & movement, if he brings that the goals will flow.

As for Danns, he had a great game, buoyed by the energy & movement of everyone else he really thrived on it.

Players like Danns & the other's movement tonight allowed Wellens to play his excellent short passing game, for too long now the lack of movement & desire to receive the ball & be open to his passes has meant he's often resorted to silly unrealistic passes, which everyone has hated him for.

It is just one performance though, we need to see this repeated by the whole team playing as a team & string some results together
