How is it ....

Well i'd much sooner have a team of dissidents standing up for each other in the face of adverse incompetant officialdom, than a load of sacrificial lambs accepting it's just not their day !!!

But they are not standing up for each other, that's the problem....... :/

They appear to have a go at each other as soon as things start to go against them, Mills, Howard and Wellens are the worse but even normally 'solid' players such as Konchesky can be seen berating their colleagues....... :dunno:

Look a little closer ....i'm sure it's not that . NP would never condone or accept it tbh !!

I will say though that a manager i once played for, actively encouraged the players to be vocal in the respect of giving each other a "kick up the jacksy" if we deserved it !!

I disagree, with the first part of your post at least.

To my mind there is a huge difference to the kind of bollocking that is designed to wake players up and get them to fight for the team (as Schmeichel does for example) and the kind of sulky, chivvying of each other that I see all to often.

I accept that I am making this call from some distance and may be wrong in my analysis of the reasons for our apparantly poor attitude but that attitude is there for all to see and it is costing points virtually every week...... :(

I am sure NFP knows there are issues, but it is hard to see what he can do about it....... :dunno:

But constant bitching at the officials does no good. Just gets their backs up and loses sympathy(and maybe objectivity). We need to toughen up against bad decisions, use them to stiffen our resolve even more.

Just like the Leeds Utd glory days you mean ? With Bremner ,Hunter and Giles etc who never did anything BUT question every decision ?

Just like Man utd under Ferguson you mean ? With Rooney ,Ferdinand and Evra continually carping on at the ref ?

Just like Barcelona....?

Just like all the most successful teams have done throughout History.......

Get real !!

Tough one this but I think I'm with you on this one WTFH...

There is no real indication that our players are 'sulking'... Either on or off the pitch... Not from what I've seen anyway.

I thought there are some pretty good lads in the squad actually.

Kasper is very very keen and energetic

Danns don't stop running around, sometimes like a crazy fool lol

Gally is meant to be a funny fella

Nugent looks and sounds like he's a cheeky chap...

I believe that, again, this 'sulky' theory is being suggested in favour of the reality.. Which is actually that we just ain't good enough at present.

People will continue to postulate' theories', rather than accept the fact that some of our players are merely average, championship players.

I think Nige knows this and, in Drinkwater, has signed what I believe to be a very good young player who is going to become the future of the club. Another few 'drinkwaters' and I think we'll start to get somewhere...

IMO.

Spot on col. That is where our future lies, young up and coming players. Pearson did it a Hull and given another year here he will do the same for us. anything we get out of this season is just a bonus , but like most fans I am much more confident about next season.

I am getting real - I'm basing what I say on our current experience.

I agree that the Leeds of yesteryear and Man U today successfully gain advantage by acting aggressively to the ref, but maybe that's just part of the "big club" syndrome where everything seems to go in their favour anyway.

On the other hand, this season we appear to lose out whenever we gripe at the officials, or maybe we haven't found the winning formula in how to do it effectively. Either way, it's not helping us at the moment.
